Australian Cultural Fund Campaign

If you're keen to see more diversity and accessibility in classical music, here's your (tax deductible) chance to support us in making that happen!

We have launched a campaign through the Australian Cultural Fund, and if you have the means, we would love your help in making Ugly Beauty (and our future endeavours) a success. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Ugly Beauty will celebrate talented women composers from 200 years ago whose careers and memories have been undermined by history. This concert is focused on the 200th birthday of Pauline Viardot and will contain many Australian premieres, and features Australian soprano Lisa Harper-Brown alongside some Perth rising stars.

Any donation to this project will go towards supporting our performers, paying our venue costs, and generally all the administration that goes into putting on a concert. We are currently entirely run by just three volunteers and the goodwill of our friends. We want to see Tenth Muse Initiative grow so we can do a lot of other exciting things, like our advocacy and consultancy work, but we can’t do that without you! We are paying the performers on a share basis from the profits of this event, so just being able to write off the costs allows us to pay everyone a share closer to recognising their efforts.

Tenth Muse’s mission is to set a new standard for art music events in Boorloo/Perth through championing and platforming underrepresented musicians and creators while providing inclusive spaces where art music is welcoming and accessible. We really appreciate your support in helping us make this a reality.
